Arizona State Sun Devils Basketball Arena Renovations Confirmed
The Arizona State Sun Devils are set to undergo significant renovations to their basketball arena, Desert Financial Arena, as confirmed by Athletic Director Graham Rossini. The renovation process is slated to commence after the 2026 university graduations in May. Although minor upgrades have already begun, the major enhancements focused on improving the fan experience will take several years to complete. Rossini revealed that over $10 million has already been invested in essential infrastructure and safety systems, laying the groundwork for future upgrades. The arena, which has not seen substantial updates since its opening in 1974, has faced operational issues in recent years that have affected game schedules. Reports suggest that the total cost of renovations may exceed $100 million. If the renovations are not completed by fall 2026, the basketball teams may need to temporarily play at Mullett Arena, home of the hockey team. As the programs prepare for the upcoming season, both coaches are focused on rebuilding their respective teams amidst these changes.
